Naruto Ninjitsu Nonstop

Over 12 Naruto mainstays will be playable, including Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Rock Lee, and Sakura. Characters have both melee and projectile attacks, and can pick up weapons and other power-ups in the environment to augment their abilities. The game makes use of an unusual two-tier gameplay system which lets you jump between foreground and background tiers at will, just like in Fatal Fury. And if all of these options aren't enough, you can call in support characters to assist you in your assault or just to drop off a helpful item. The game has a quick, madcap feel to it that draws comparisons to Capcom's Power Stone, as well as the aforementioned Super Smash Bros.

Each character has multiple-level super attacks which can eat up varying amounts of their super met... sorry, chakra meters. In an unusual twist, the player being hit by one of these massive attacks can try to counter it by timing button presses to a scrolling DDR-like display. The attacker does the same, and each player's success or failure in this little test of skill will factor into whether or not the attacker can continue into another, more devastating level of the chakra attack. If the attacker successfully reaches the third level of the super attack, their victim is in for a world of hurt.

Another interesting feature is the ability to literally knock your opponent into another stage. Unlike many fighting games, the levels in Naruto have distinctive geography and hazards, with some stages being more dangerous than others. If you prefer one of these stages to the current, you can use a certain power-up to take the fight to your preferred turf. It's not clear how much this will actually affect the gameplay, but it's certainly odd.

Ninjitsu Nonstop

You can expect the usual complement of gameplay modes, with Scenario offering up the usual story-based goodies (play through a storyline as one of various characters) and Mission letting you rank-up your character of choice through extended battling. Faithful players will be rewarded with unlockable characters, movies, music, virtual cards, and some sort of scrolls or the like. That is what is commonly referred to as "replay value," though hopefully the wacky fighting action will have enough legs so that such enticements will merely be icing on a sweet cake.

"The robot airsoft kit brings together a simple pan/tilt servo setup with an automatic airsoft gun. Everything is controlled from your computer’s serial port. Attaching a camera allows you to have completely autonomous control of the gun, which makes it an ideal platform to enter the Defcon Robot Contest or the Robot Airsoft event at RoboGames! Overview

The base has a servo which controls the pan.
That connects to the U structure, which is the tilt, and holds all the control electronics.
The gun is attached to the tilt rod. It’s a generic connection so any light gun will work.
The pan/tilt is controlled from the computer’s serial port.
Firing is done through a relay via the servo controller.
Power comes from 8 AA batteries (4 for the gun, 4 for everything else)."

Remember the video we featured last week? Well the CoilOsapien (Robosapien Coil Gun) is done, look here for all of the details.

“When the servo is activated it turns the disc inside the housing, with each spin it will pick up one BB and drop it into the firing chamber. The coilgun will need to be on a slight angle whilst reloading to allow the BB to roll to the back of the chamber. The reload would function better if it could be setup behind the coil to drop the BB directly into position, this would also allow loading in any position. Due to the fact there was not enough room to mount it back there I went the easier less functional alternative.

The following list is what I used for the hack, there are many substitutes you could make here.

* At least one disposable camera with flash
* 4 x photo flash capacitors (I salvaged mine from 3 other disposable cameras)
* 0.4mm enameled copper wire
* 2 x Ball-point pens (just the casings)
* Electrical tape
* A small servo
* 2 x 5v regulators
* SPST relay (Higher current handling if possible)
* SPDT relay
* LED
* AA battery holder
* 2 x softdrink lids (plastic)
* laser module (any type will do)
* small magnet
* 2 x empty film canisters
* Hot glue (this was my best friend!)
* Hookup wire (some heavy duty, some light duty)”

RC and airsoft is a good combination, have a look at this cool rolling gun platform.

“RC toys are always fun, especially when you can add weapons…
I was given this RC car for christmas, and it came with a switch on the remote for lights you could turn on. I tore off the body and clipped the wires to the lights. It turns out they put out a nice 10v signal. I quickly grabbed my tiny breadboard and using its adhesive, glued it to the RC car ( there was a perfect plateau to fit it on). Then I headed to dunhams and bought the cheapest electric airsoft gun (25$) and attacked it with my dremel… With a 6v DC relay I put it all together and oila, a sweet RC car with a fully automatic weapons turret! ”

This servo controlled airsoft gun by Inventgeek is version 2 of a cool concept.

“So version 2.0 is done. We really focused on creating as diverse as a platform as possible. One side effect is that it seems a little diluted. So I recommend you go with either USB or RC and not both. Either way after doing some testing and tuning we were able to get our gun up to about 1500 rounds per minute. Or about 25 rounds a second using these cheap guns. I was let informed by a fan that there are electric airsoft guns that will shoot up to 1100 round a minute by their self’s. Imagine 4 of those running at the same time!”

“I’m currently using the 8 servo serial controller, and s666n High Torque servo motor, both of which are made by Pololu Robotics. I highly recommend using their servo controller over the Mini-SSC variety, because of the added resolution. Pololu’s servo controllers work with Mini-SSC protocol as well, however I saw quite an increase in precision when I switched over to Pololu protocol.”

This is a cool mod that adds a bullet counter to an Airsoft rifle.

“The new circuit was built with the hopes that since the CMOS IC has much lower voltage requirement, it can still operate when the rifle is firing, but I was wrong. Though my second alternative is to use external batteries, and power consumption is an important factor in this case.

As far as power goes, the new circuit uses the Motorola 14533 CMOS to multiplex the three digit displays which saves a lot of energy from having to power all three digits at the same time. Only one LED driver is needed because of that instead of three. ”
